Better late, than never.

{New Year’s Post}

My sweet friend, over at Time Well Wasted, blogs at the beginning of each year with a word for the year. This year her word is gratitude. Good word, my friend, good word.

I am totally copying her and choosing a word for the year. Over the past five {almost six} years the Lord has been working. I mean, working hard on me. Every step of the way, it’s been a little nudge to surrender. Surrender your plan, Kailey. Surrender your time, Kailey. Surrender your desires, Kailey. Surrender your marriage, Kailey.

These convictions from the Holy Spirit have been without fail over the years. This year, before the 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting, I asked the Lord to give me what He would have me pray and fast for this year. Within seconds, the Holy Spirit spoke five things to me. You guessed it, #1 was SURRENDER YOUR PLAN.

I have continued to surrender the plan that I have for my day…my week…even my life. We are no longer in the 21 days, but the Lord made it so clear to me that this was to be my focus this year. I mean, isn’t that what we are called to do as believers? Lay our lives down each day for Him….Put our desires aside to be able to see His plan….

Surrender your plan & watch Him show you His goodness & faithfulness.

Happy Sunday 🙂

  1. Amen girl! I love this!! I have totally surrendered my plan for God’s and it’s something I have to do on a daily basis. It’s not always easy because as humans we want to control everything and not live by faith, but if we want God’s best, then we must. Thank you for posting this!! I hope you have a great week!

  2. So good!! All we can do is surrender to Him and wait in obedience and faith xoxo

  3. You chose wisely friend! Thinking of you!

  4. Love this. Surrender is my word for the year. I love how the Holy Spirit has spoken to me since. I also love hearing about how he’s working in your life. God has a huge plan for our lives and we can only get there when we surrender our own plans.
